Celebrating
Allie & Kate
THE BIG
DAY(S)
October 10th and 11th
Starts 5pm on Friday
Dive Palm Springs

WHY
PALM SPRINGS?
It's Where We Met!
As many of you know, we were long-distance for the first 10 months of our relationship—Kate in Denver, CO and Allie in San Marcos, CA (where we live together now). After meeting "the old fashioned way" (i.e., on a dating app) and talking for a few weeks by phone and video call, we decided we were ready to meet in person. Rather than meet up in either of our home towns, we chose to meet at Dive Palm Springs. It charmed us so much the first time that is has become a favorite spot to sneak away for a long weekend. We hope you love it as much as we do!

It's So Gay!
Palm Springs' history is deeply intertwined with the LGBTQ+ community, evolving from a discreet haven for Hollywood celebrities facing societal intolerance to a vibrant and celebrated destination for LGBTQ+ folks. The city provided refuge for those seeking privacy and community, paving the way for a strong LGBTQ+ presence that flourished with the establishment of bars, resorts, and supportive organizations. Today, Palm Springs is known for its inclusivity, hosting major LGBTQ+ events like Pride and The Dinah, and boasts openly LGBTQ+ leadership, reinforcing its legacy as a key LGBTQ+ travel destination and a symbol of acceptance and visibility.

It's Perfect for a Fall Wedding!
We think Palm Springs is the perfect location for a fall wedding, with warm sunny days and pleasant evenings—a refreshing contrast to the cooling temperatures elsewhere. The city's stunning desert landscape, framed by majestic mountains, provides a gorgeous backdrop for celebrating our wedding outdoors and under the stars with you. Additionally, there are plenty of attractions and activities in and around Palm Springs for you to enjoy, such as great restaurants and bars to explore, hiking in nearby canyons, exploring museums, browsing art galleries, taking a midcentury modern architecture tour, or making the scenic trip up San Jacinto Peak on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

WHAT TO
WEAR
Friday, October 10
For Friday night's ceremony and dinner, we're calling the dress code "poolside cocktail attire," but what does that really mean?

Imagine you're sipping a spritz at a swanky French Riviera pool party.

Think chic, fun, and a little bit glam.
No black tie, no flip-flops.
French Riviera meets Palm Springs.

Still need some inspiration?
-
Sundresses, jumpsuits, breezy suits, fun blazers, and dressy separates are perfect.
-
Stylish sandals and statement sunglasses? Yes, please.
-
Flip-flops, shorts, and t-shirts? Kindly leave those at the actual pool.

As a non-binary couple, we also want to emphasize that we hope you will feel free to dress in a way that makes you feel fully yourself. No need to conform to gender norms at this wedding!
We will be outdoors! Temperatures in Palm Springs in October are often in the 80s or even 90s, and it cools off after the sun goes down. Check the weather and plan accordingly!
Saturday, October 11
On Saturday, you may want to consider the following when deciding what to pack:
-
Swimsuits, flip flops, and a cover up if you'll be poolside
-
Sturdy shoes, sport shorts, and a hat if you're hiking
-
Shorts/skirts and a lightweight top if you're exploring downtown

For the pizza party and movie night at Dive Palm Springs, we recommend you dress as you would for a nice dinner out.
Think shorts and a button-up, a skirt and blouse, a summer dress, or a romper.

As with Friday, feel free to dress in a way that makes you feel fully yourself. No need to conform to gender norms!
We will again be outdoors! Check the weather and plan accordingly!
Don't Forget to Pack!
-
Sunscreen
-
Lip balm
-
A water bottle
-
A swimsuit (if you plan to swim)
